This was the sole example of the Malaysian national butterfly to be found at the Penang Butterfly Farm. Of course I forgot to write it's name down, but it did not do the spectacular colors and shine justice.

The butterfly farm was a close and warm place, with all sorts of vivid colors drifting by on silent wings, landing on our shoulders and feasting on ultraviolet flowers. Among all the butterflies was a scorpion pit and several glass enclosures with various and sundry freakish bugs, lizards and snakes. A separate room contained an extensive collection of beetles and butterflies impaled on needles. They were drab and hopeless.
